One of the things I’ve been reading up on is the theory of intersectionality. In order to make this track I had to translate the theory to Vietnamese. Google Translate allows you to hear Northern dialect, but my family is from South. I had to consult my dad in order to be able to pronounce it in ‘our mother tongue’. Which sparked an interesting but also challenging conversation about the topic, allowing me to learn more about his view on the subject, his experiences, trauma’s and challenges as a Vietnamese war refugee.
