Throughout the Online Residency Programme, several multidisciplinary artists are invited to a one-week take over of the dgtl fmnsm website and social media channels.
26.06 – 02.07.2020 – Anna Fries & Malu Peters: “The Host”
“THE HOST” is a performative video installation, a digital body essay, a trip into the belly of the pregnant monster. Based on a docufictional journal this work bears witness to a process of mutation and transformation of body and identity. Anna Fries mutate and transform, posing questions of becoming and of difference. Exploring practices of vlogging and camming they aim to create a non-normative digital space for a community in which the pregnant body is deromanticised and defeminized. For THE HOST Anna Fries collaborate with sound artist Malu Peeters, who researches and composes monstrous sounds. Together with media artist Ambrus Ivanyos they are building a virtual world using the game engine Unity. During the online residency at dgtl fmnsm they will show a first work in progress version of THE HOST.

17.07 – 23.07.2020 – Moesha13: “Existing. Becoming.”
Where creating is a post-colonial revolt and a practise in becoming visible
DJ, researcher and music producer Moesha13 is conducting post-colonial research, connected to current happenings, from a diasporic context. “Existing. Becoming” is an audio collage made from snippets of films, songs, speech and her own voice.
“The body became an object of consciousness, dynamic, incurable element of a metamorphosis visible from the inside to the outside. There is only one solution: the struggle. And in all its forms. In the territories where strategies are developed to confine it to certain roles, wherever things are pushed to the point of eliminating it, it is there. The change is radical: fear is no longer frightening. Existence is now conceived only in the form of freedom.” – Moesha13
