The approach of the collective lab #disconnect puts all its hope into getting closer to a future that is in desperate need of being turned from DYSTOPIA into UTOPIA.
The fog doesn’t fade away anymore, the question about “What’s next” causes goose bumps. With the endless closeness and the inevitable intimacy caused by the internet and its devices, we were overwhelmed by the dystopic dream. More and more people shut off their phones and go off-line.
The approach of this collective laboratory #disconnect places all hopes in the re-approach to a future that desperately needs to be transformed from DYSTOPIA to UTOPIA.
The US-American choreographer Tarren Johnson, the Berlin collective Omsk Social Club and the cultural mediators Soppa/Bleck show new approaches to questions of #disconnect, which will be presented and gently massaged into the audience as part of the lab. Musician and performer Lyra Pramuk will close the evening with a live performance.
The public lab invites you to dissolve the strict separation between festival, scientific conference and plenum. Under the slogan #disconnect, dgtl fmsnm will spend a day searching for the conditions of thoroughgoing digitalization – in performative and participatory arrangements between music, theater, performance, activism and science. The audience is invited to linger with the artists and dgtl fmnsm protagonists, as is customary at dgtl fmnsm, to explore the topic through various art forms and formats.
