shasti (they/them) is transdisciplinary artist, organizer and DJ born in Jakarta, based in Berlin and Bochum. shasti envisions possibilities of re-enchantment of the body, using technologies like ghost stories, sound, performance and other digital media as transformative tools for their demonic stage persona. They design creature-like vocal distortions to layer over their screams and hardcore-inspired tracks, channeling rage into a visceral and cathartic curse manifesto. shasti began working with dgtl fmnsm in 2021, co-producing the online workshop “FACE your Demons”, in collaboration with HAU. They co-initiated “Nusaqueer Diaspora”, a community platform for queer individuals connected to the Indonesian Diaspora. Under the project “Keymochi”, they are collaborating with multidisciplinary creative ZAH and recently released the tracks “Pressure” and “Burn it Down”.
